Burgess Pier, or, as it is now known, Tate Hill Pier.
This pier is on the site of the original East Pier, dating back to at least the 1600s and it was also known later as Burgess Pier.
It was made its present length in c1765 and it was where Whitby's lifeboat was kept from 1822-1863.
