St. Nicholas Gardens, located on Scarborough's South Bay, have recently undergone major regeneration and improvements. The gardens and steps were re-opend by the Mayor of Scarborough on August 8th 2009.
This ceremony marked the first stage of the completion of the refurbishment of the fences pathways and installation of the new steps. The grassed area to the sides of the new steps has also been landscaped with new turf and much of the wooden railings where replaced with metal versions at the same time in order to match the existing railings.
